Kriptiek is the home of Afrikaans word and puzzle games like Dilemma, Blitstiek and Slimstiek. Most of our players return daily, spend focused time on our pages, and are in a relaxed, receptive mindset. The atmosphere is friendly, inclusive and non-political.

Ad formats on Kriptiek

1. Game page banner (primary placement)

Our main placement is a static banner shown on our game pages, including Slimstiek (and, by agreement, other games).

  • Size: 300 × 250 px – standard Google “Medium Rectangle” display size.
  • Format: Static JPG or PNG image.
  • Placement: Prominent position near the main game area, on both desktop and mobile.
  • Exclusivity: We keep the advertising environment clean, with very limited clutter.

2. Future formats (coming soon)

We are exploring additional formats, such as sponsored tiles and occasional sponsored content. If you are interested in more integrated campaigns, please mention this in your enquiry.

Creative specifications

To keep the site fast, clean and player-friendly, we currently accept the following:

  • Size: 300 × 250 px (standard Medium Rectangle).
  • File format: JPG or PNG.
  • Max file size: 150 KB (recommended).
  • Animation: Static banners only for now (no animated GIFs or video).
  • Language: English or Afrikaans. Afrikaans is recommended for this audience.

If you do not have a designer, we can help adapt an existing visual for Kriptiek at a small additional cost. Please mention this when you contact us.

Pricing & campaign options

We keep our pricing simple and transparent. Campaigns can be booked on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, with discounts for longer bookings.

  • Short test campaigns to measure response.
  • Week-long and month-long packages at reduced effective daily rates.
  • Special rates for non-profit and community organisations by arrangement.

Current rate card and availability can be requested by email. All prices are quoted in South African rand (ZAR).

Reporting & performance

For active campaigns we provide basic performance reporting so you can see how your ad is performing.

  • Impressions – how often your banner was shown.
  • Clicks – how many visitors clicked through to your site or landing page.
  • Click-through rate (CTR) – clicks as a percentage of impressions.

Reports are normally provided weekly for longer campaigns, and at the end of shorter test campaigns.

Frequently asked questions

Can I run a short test campaign first?

Yes. We are happy to start with a short trial period so you can measure response before committing to a longer campaign.

Can I use my existing Google Ads banner?

Yes. Our main placement uses the standard 300 × 250 px “Medium Rectangle” size, which is fully compatible with existing Google Display / AdSense creatives.

Do you accept animated banners?

For now we only run static banners. This keeps the game experience clean and avoids distracting players while they are concentrating on a puzzle.

Is Kriptiek brand-safe?

Yes. Kriptiek focuses on family-friendly Afrikaans word and puzzle games. We do not carry content that would be inappropriate alongside mainstream consumer advertising.
